Momma’s Phoenix

Momma looks at her dying child The sweetness sucked from her young boys face Toddler and baby long since deceased Gazing upon her phoenix Dying, eyeballs wide open Flames encase him Momma screams Tears slide across her aging Slightly wrinkled face Momma knows this is how it happens Boys aren’t boys for long Girls aren’t girls long either The cruel world is filled with phoenixes Momma has no boy now She’s got a man sitting in the ashes She’s got a phoenix who’s ready to fly
