Mommy

Hey love, how are you tonight?

I say, you are rather harsh tonight

I look at our child and wonder how I'll provide for her as I go to work, school, provide her with love when I'm busy to earn money because without this money we have nothing.

I can't let that define me. So, I work until I'm sore and aching just to come home and begin my job of mother hood.

As these tables turn, I'm looking to my beautiful child with a soul so free. Love, why have you turned me so harsh?

Becoming frustrated by this world, trying to remain sane while we visit through a monitor asking when daddy will be home..

These tears, they fall less and less because you see, I've cried one too many nights, told to toughen up and have thicker skin but you see that is not mommy - not me, not love.

"Mommy, she will be the light to guide you my love." This I promise to my child. Without you I would never break free from the tough skin and harsh love, I am free and it's because of you, my love child. Thank you.
