Mona Lisa
She’s been a fighter forever.
It’s all she’s ever known.
She wants to believe in peace,
But, there’s chaos in her bones.
Her life has always been wild.
But wild doesn’t always mean free.
Her fearlessness came at a price,
You’d be blinded by what she’s seen.
It’s not that she doesn’t feel.
She’s the opposite of numb.
She’s learning to love herself.
She’s proud of who she’s become.
She’s just so god damn tired,
She’s finally had enough.
She’s given til it hurts.
Love shouldn’t be so tough.
But, she knows now that she’s worth it.
No one can save her but her.
She’s becoming her own hero.
And, her tables are starting to turn.
She’s standing a bit taller.
Giving credit where it’s due.
She’s learning to be proud,
And, she’s changing her own truth.
There are no words to describe it.
Her journey’s been her own.
She danced her way through Hell.
And she did that shit alone.
Most people just exist,
Where mediocrity feels safe.
They judge her out of boredom.
And, they tell her she’s insane.
They sneer in perfect unison.
They give it all they’ve got.
They want her to be scared.
Because, she’s everything they’re not.
But...”they” have always been there.
They’ll never go away.
There’s a difference between talking,
And actually having something to say.
Her soul is filled with thunder.
She’s lightning wild to her core.
The sky just met its match.
For she has become the storm.
