Monday afternoon
I'll write my violence in a sonnet.
Discard my feelings into prose.
Find the solution past the eyelids.
Watch the fireflies as they glow.
I'll end it all this summer.
With a hammer and a break.
See the fear in the newcomers.
See the human life at stake.
Live in nothing new but poems.
Write a song or two or five.
Live my whole life breathing below him.
Just try to survive.
I'll leave a letter with my art.
My journey at last will end.
the content of my heart.
A daughter and a sister, least of all a friend.
