Money Isn't The Root of Evil

See, people say money is the root of all evil

The bible says it, my parents say it, everyone says it.

But how can I live without money?

Does that mean that I'm evil?

You see, people want me to go to college

I want to go to college, get the grades and maybe a job?

Does that mean that college is evil?

Just because it requires money?

It swallows your cash but does it take your soul as well?

Where's the line between good and evil?

Now here comes the wedding day.

My bride is walking down the aisle, glistening white

I'm twitching in my tux, fingers sweaty.

I never did like standing in front of others.

But im good at public speaking, it calms me down

That ring on her finger, glistening in the sun

Do you see it?

It's called money. You know, the evil stuff?

The only type of bills you want to receive?

Money is the reason I'm standing here today.

In front of my soon to-be wife.

Does that mean I paid my marriage with the price of sin?

That sickly, biblical evil that corrupts the heart of man?

Money is the root of all evil, but I used money to advance my life,

Does that mean my life is made of pure evil too?

Money is in everything, used for everythig, consumed by everything.

It makes the world go'round.

So to say what someone can't live without.

Is that really the best question?

Truly money can buy happiness, money can buy life.

Money is the key to success, but also comes with it.

A better question would be this:

What can't you live without that doesn't need money?

That's the question of the day, and one I can't answer.

Maybe one of the other poets has an answer I need.

But for now, money is the root of everything, good and bad.

So what I can't live without, why the answer is money of course.
