Money as a Teacher

Twelve plus years in a so called education system,

Blessed with great educators who have opened my mind

But cursed to be part of a system who is trying to close mine.

See they tell you to be anything you want to be

And yet on Yahoo articles Fine Arts is one of the least wanted jobs.

So who is really lying here?

Should we all just break bad and make meth to pay our tuitions?

Being a minority has nothing to do with this,

Whether you are White, Asian, Black or Hispanic, we are all living in a crisis.

Graduating with thousands in debt written on our foreheads

So how exactly am I getting ahead?

See all I want is transparency and truth.

Stop treating these institutions like businesses.

Stop letting teachers tell their students “just be realistic”.

Every student needs to stand up and say Fuck It, I deserve this.

To not be treated like a dollar sign instead of an intelligent mind.

Think about what your agenda is when you see the next generations who have just entered high school or college.

We are the leaders of tomorrow just as someone thought your generation was.

Think twice before closing schools, telling a student they will accomplish nothing, deciding who is “gifted” and who goes to college prep schools.

See I know my tuition money is not being used wisely when I pay five grand a semester but I can’t even get a free photocopy at the print center.

My books and supplies aren’t even included in my tuition.

To the Chicago Public School System, Banks, Lenders, Mayor, corrupt politicians and horrible teachers all over the city is a big Fuck You.

Someone is getting richer and I want to find out who.
