Monkey Bars

Two ninjas attempt to cross laser beams

In April mist, and it seems they

May never make it to the right side

Before they fall endlessly.

In April mist, it seems

There is never a way out and

May could never make it to the right side

Of this playground.

There is never a way out

With two troubled ninjas and ten captors

On this playground,

Unless a prize is awarded.

With two troubled ninjas and ten captors,

Friendly hands turn cold,

Even when a prize is awarded

To the happy victor.

Friendly hands turn cold

On monkey bars

And the happy, lasting victor

Becomes a captor of joy.

On monkey bars,

Ninjas and captors can’t mingle

Unless you too want to become a captor of joy

In serious matters.

Ninjas and captors can’t mingle,

A divided terrain, especially

In serious matters

Forever unforgiven and unforgotten.

A divided terrain, especially

Between two ninjas attempting to cross laser beams,

Forever unforgiven and unforgotten

In the endless fall.
