A Monologue from the Heart (Monologue)

Do you want to be
forgotten?
Like a thought drifting in the
wind?
If you came up to me right this minute and told me
you never want to see me again.
Do you think I'd fight? I'd yell? Beg? Plead?
Yes, you think I would? I wouldn't I'd look you in the eyes say, "if that's what you want," pick up my stuff and
Calmly walk away.
You look surprised. Is it surprising that I'd give you up
so easily?
You should know by now I'd do whatever you asked. So, yes, I would go away, you never see me again until you
wanted.
Until then I'd protect you from the hidden danger, the
groping, grasping hands
I'd keep you safe from with the shadows until you called
me into the light again.
But until then I'd do ask you asked. What? Wouldn't you want that? No, then what do you want? Well, of course, you can have it. It's my heart speaking
after all.
