Monster

I drew a picture of my heart once and when I smeared the lines between what's real and what's a lie I saw your face somewhere in the middle I'm sure it's just a coincidence but maybe I'm wrong I taped that picture to the fridge hoping to God that you'd see it and commend me on my talents but it sat for days unnoticed I sat for days unnoticed I held my breath until stars sparked in my eyes and my vision blurred but it didn't change how I saw you You're a monster in lovers' clothing
