The Monster
They told her monsters aren’t real
They checked under the bed
In the closet
But they forgot the check the room next door
They never told her that the monsters
Could be someone she knew
Someone who seemed nice
Who gave her gifts
She could never escape
This monster
The one in the bedroom
Down the hall
She looked at her parents
Dressed in black
Crying
Grieving
She looked at herself
Laying in her red dress
Sleeping
Sad
She looked at herself
Wearing what the monster
Gave her
She wanted it gone
She trying burning it
To take it off
But her hand couldn’t grab it
She wanted her mom
But she couldn’t reach her
Give her a hug
Tell her it’s okay
She went home
Saw her family,
Saw the monster
And her little sister
She screamed
And yelled
Tried to tell them
That the monster was there
They sat in black
While the monster was there
A week passed
Than the man became monster
She followed him
Into the room
As the man became monster
The monster was near her sister
She grabbed him
Made him turn around
Placed her had over his heart
Made his heart fail
Lungs collapse
Breathing gone
Going cold
Her little sister was safe
From the monster
Her little sister cried
Her parents ran in
Her little sister
Told them of the monster
The family didn’t grieve
Acheri, the little girl
Travels the word
Taking friends
Killing monsters
