The Monster

I walk down the darkened halls,

of my mind as darkness falls,

I look under my bed,

Only to find the monster inside my head.

They told me that I was lost forever,

The monster would consume me whether,

I fought or succumbed,

To the bleeding of my wounds.

The monster is not real,

I created it through the hate I feel,

Now I will toss it away,

And embrace a brighter day.
