Monster Friends

At night when I'm lying trying to sleep

the growing shadows start to creep

out from the closet and under the bed

with their eyes glowing a bright blood red

they start to quietly sneak about

around the room and through the house

i hear the creak of their quiet steps

listen to the rythym of their shallow breaths

I quickly sit up and jump out of bed

and smile happily at my monster friends

as they grin back thier jagged fangs gleam...

things aren't always waht they seem.
