a monster inside all of us

I think there’s a monster inside all of us

It’s small and tiny

But the power it holds over us is huge

I can feel the monster,

Clawing me out from the inside

Begging, betting on me to lose

I think there’s a monster inside all of us

It tries its best to destroy us

Some people let it

Others go crazy to get rid of it,

Never succeeding

Some believe they can’t

So they become that monster, letting it engulf them whole

So maybe

Next time you want to get angry,

And blame someone

Maybe it isn’t them

It's the monster inside of them

Rooting against them, controlling them

And they just haven’t figured out yet how to best it
