To The Monster Inside Me
Dear the monster inside me,
I remeber the day you showed your face to me,
Telling me I was ugly and worthless while destroying the inside of me.
I never knew I wasn't worth much until you said it everyday,
Made me sincerely believe it so I agreed with what you'd say.
Since I was 13 you have been telling me these things,
Started when I was on the playground, just playing on the swings.
Not letting a day go by without you reminding me,
Lost sight of who I was meant to be.
Friends and family starting notcing the long trips to the bathroom after I ate,
Forced me into therapy which I never thought was that great.
I was given the ultimatum, kill you or not go to school,
Ever since then, I haven't stopped fighting, I will overrule.
The days go by and I see you shrinking,
However, I know you will always be apart of me so here's what I'm thinking...
I do what I can to shield you out,
Enough so that I can barely hear you when you shout.
I continue my new life without the fear of you in it,
And I will survive without you making me quit.
