The Monster In My Head

There is a Monster

In my head.

An aberration

In my thoughts,

Keeping me from

The normal life.

The bane

Of my life.

Destroying me

With thoughts.

Like a mouse

Eaten by a cat.

Every thought

Is like a

Harbinger of

The torture to come.

My mind its own

Prison.

I imagine this Monster

As far from bright

And happy.

It is

Sad.

And the Monster

Is far from happy.

The Monster is

And angry

And stubborn.

No matter what I do,

The symptoms of this syndrome

Are always there.

The Monster flows

Into my head

Like honey.

But it is not

As sweet.

The Monster is

Cruel and cantankerous and difficult.

I wish I could

Give it away

Because I have

No empathy for

This Monster.

I don’t feel bad that

I hate it,

Or that I wished

I could live without it.

In my reality,

I cannot

Get rid of My Monster

I can only

Live with it

Live with

This Monster in my head

Suffer with

This Monster in my head
