Monsters
They say there's monsters under neath your bed
That it's not safe to be there
I ran and ran and ran and hid
Underneath my bed
I only hid there to hide from you
You were the only thing that scared me
So I ran and ran and ran
I finally made it to a safe place
I heard your footsteps getting closer
I held my breathe
To keep you from hearing me
There you were, at the end of my bed
Eyes roaming to catch a glimpse
Now I know that the monsters aren't underneath the bed
They are above it, prowling to get you
Hoping to get you alone to where you are at your weakest
You're gone now
And now I only see you in my dreams
Oh how I dreaded that dream where you were back
Back in my life
Back to take back what I forgot
But it's ok
It was just a dream
And that's where monsters only live and belong
In my dreams.
