The Monsters Inside my Head

The mists calls me.

Beacons me.

It's shadowy tendrils embrace me

Fear yields to me then,

swallows me whole

The darkness is a cage

that holds me captive

I hear thunder.

It's the sound of my heart

breaking my chest to flee.

Death is my only release,

yet it is one I will not

willingly partake of.

Blood throbs in my head.

Playing a sickening sweet

melody of my tortured soul.

It must stop, I must be free!
