Monument (19 May 2015)

Sheltered…
under a canopy of branches,
a mountain of rocks
stands erect upon fertile soil.
Each stone represents
the integrity of the elements,
that fashioned this precipice.
The crevices join together
in unity,
strengthening,
the center of the peak.
The segments of this rock signify,
the wisdom,
of those who came before us.
The divisions immortalize the struggle,
of standing firm
in the midst of storms,
when establishing roots.
Beneath the structure,
I plant my feet firmly
on the ground,
and view the sunset.
As it ascends behind the trees,
a momentary sip of Heaven coats my lips,
and penetrates my soul
I am satisfied.

RebelPoet

A small town New England poet from CT. I like figuring out ways to make words work. Suppose you could call me a Rebel Poet. I write about your standard themes in different ways. I also write about experiences, changes, etc. I'd like it if you'd read what I post and leave constructive criticism. I don't consider debates constructive or conducive to writing, though.
