Moods of a Cloud
Gently, silently expanding its reach for the sky,
playfully forming many different shapes
for all that is the watcher's delight.
Proud poise, rising ever taller
delicately displalying all of it's beauty.
Intricate mounds of white cotton rolls,
contrasting the sea of blue
as if intruding upon it's realm.
Rising, rising ever higher, it soars
As it tries to find the freedom in the heavens.
Happily and merrily it goes about it's task,
until it finds it's boarder in the atmosphere.
Trying to break free, not wanting to fail,
it pushes harder to no avail.
It's gentle rolls start to spread,
as it pushes more, unrelenting, straining it's will.
Spread out too far, it's force lost by misdirection,
It gets angry at the earth for not letting it go.
Then, childishly, it begins to throw a tantrum,
crying, pounding, yelling, thrashing
Until the anger is abated and all is cried out,
deciding that is shall try again, maybe another day.
