The Moon

As I look upon the moon,

My heart soars to the Heavens;

And my gaze is lost upon Her,

Seated on Her lunar throne.

Nothing compares to Her astounding beauty,

The striking pallor of Her face,

or the brightness of Her smile

As She gazes down upon us from the vast unknown.

She hangs the stars nightly

With a steady hand,

Displaying them like diamonds

Against the blanket of the black sky.

Her power is limitless,

Controlling the tides of the ever-churning ocean

From miles away

As if it were nothing but a daily chore.

She walks along an atmospheric path,

Turning Her galactic face

Until all that can be seen

Is the outline of Her back.

When the night turns to day-

I grieve and wait

For Her cosmic beauty

To return to the skies.
