The Moon

I saw the moon on a cloudy night I quickly saw it’s glowing light There was something about the way it shone That told me I was not alone But quickly the clouds covered the light And took the moon from my sight As I lay in the snow I asked “oh God, where did You go?” Then He whispered in my ear “be still me daughter, I am here” He took all my doubt, and chased all my fear And told me that He’d always be near Even if the moon no longer shone Even when I feel so terribly alone Through danger, through shadow, and through cloudy night He told me He’d always give my heart light Though crying, though sad, though lonely, though mad, He told me He’d always make my heart glad From the rock to the hard place wherever I go He’ll always be with me, that one thing I know.
