The Moon

That massive orb, way up in the sky
It can ramp you up, or make you cry.
When it's full, it can make you crazy,
But when it's not, you feel so lazy.

It's got more power than you'll ever know
Being involved in the ocean's flow.
It'll make you feel all aglow,
But also give you feelings of woe.

We only see one side of that mystical orb
I know that's kind of hard to absorb...
But it's true.
It also has beautiful names in many different dialects too.
Not one or the other is perfect,
but they will do...
And you won't mind any of them,
That is true.

Selene, Mond, Luna, Lune,
September and March have a Harvest Moon.
We have a spring and fall equinox.
They're really quite a paradox.

In September, it's considered the first day of fall...
Winter is coming, so get out your shawl.
Then in March we'll have the first day of spring,
You know that time, to plan a wedding?
Then, all of a sudden, we're all sweating!
What a phenomenal thing.

This big, shining ball in the sky...
Sometimes it seems far away,
Other times...nearby.
You can see it with the naked eye.
Way up there in the beautiful sky.

One more thing I must clarify...
It won't be gone in the blink of an eye.
The moon will be here, long after I die.

Something so magical about the moon.
Just like a big old balloon...
It makes me smile.
In fact, since it's full, I think I'll just sit here a while...

and reconcile my thoughts.
