The Moon and Me

When I’m tired of the dreadful day You come out of hiding and lay When light cannot be my guide You give me light in the darkest of night When I cannot bear to sleep You comfort me until dawn leaps When I no longer have inspiration You stare at me with mutual admiration And every night I wait for you, In the darkest of nights when everything is mute. When the blistering sun can no longer shine I’ll leap out of hide When your emotions are running wild I’ll give you a smile that’ll last miles When you want to be heard I’ll listen as if I am allured When you’re scared and alone I’ll give you a gleaming light as bright as the heaven’s unknown And I promise you that when you’re out there to wait I’ll shine bright and never be late.
