Moon and Stars

All I need is to look up at night,

and see an endless array of glittering stars;

the bright moon alighting its dark backdrop,

and the world: its problems, anxieties, worries

melt away into the soft, reassuring twinkle of light amidst the darkness.

Glimmering rays of hope, a gentle, chilly night breeze,

and a silence so tranquil,

it seems the world be asleep.

And you stare at the wide expanse right above our heads,

we're just a person, on a planet, floating in space.
