Moon Child Ballad
Dear the hopeful adolescence,
I am afriad of growing up
just now speeding in my used car,
music streaming out my windows.
only learning the guitar,
my spirit as the wind goes
I am never short of dimpled smiles,
sunglasses- even indoors.
worried too much about my style
could spend hours in any book store
no love lasted for very long,
but each lover made her swoon
I believed that i was strong.
and channeled power through the moon.
the orb gave me hope at night,
revealing just the truth.
that my future too may be bright,
I was convinced it was inscribed since youth
I am freer than a feather,
cut loose from her mother's wing,
i flaunted mt signiture jacket adorned in leather,
my confidence resembled kings
but only if i know then,
that my life now, far from exciting
her nights never reach past ten,
life run by bills and crash dieting
Now i am just a housewife,
to a man i loved once before
goosebumps never again in her life,
i reminece the days before.
I rest my head in light of my love,
tears streaming down my face.
the moonbeams expose me from above,
my life turned to such waste.
I am afraid of growing up
