The Moon Knew Us Well

Location

When the lights are searching my pockets of darkness
Those words that frantically chime in your ear
They are still alive, they knew me well
I told them, you were a whisper
That woke me up when the wind would not shake my body
I pull out the blisters and rise again
Fairly standing towards the face of the moon that softly cradled us
I stare at my feet, then counting the letters scrawled on the pavement
I fall in tune to the ocean crying
Holding up my hands to be swept away
I falter, those eyes blindly swaying from left to right.
My lips move, I taste the salt
My eyes cringe. I taste the rain.
My legs dance. I fall back down.
