The Moon is Melting

tip toes to the edge of your glass world.

sharp rocks and shattered clocks.

cuts and scrapes on broken blue hearts.

hand in hand he’ll fly me to the screaming sun.

steal Jupiter’s tears and turn them to bubble gum.

But burning stars are further than they seem.

he’ll only ever want me in his black and white dreams.

starlight will tell him the moon will melt.

he’ll run far away across Saturn’s belt.

he thinks I’m gone he thinks I’m done.

but I’m swallowing handfuls of golden raw sun.
