Moon by Sia

Dizzy is a light way to put it -- I feel revolutionary! -- in a life changing sense, in a planetary sense. I...  I feel like mars in her red dress swing dancing beside the velvet ropes of an asteroid belt.

I am so rhythmically in orbit. So entranced by the sound of gravity. My feet can't help pulling me closer to you.

In the beginning, i felt like I was just a satellite--

Luna.

Sputnik.

Like my revolution was secondary. A simple imitation of an orbit. An attempt to play Gaea. Play God. Play "important".

I can't count how many rotations it took for me to realize that I am important.

Your greatness does not cast a shadow across my face. I am not the vacant cold to your eternal warmth.

Beautiful as she is, with dimpled cheeks and youthful glow...

I am not Luna.

And you are not blazing helium with flaring aura.

We are each spinning on tilted axes and separated by 170 million kilometers of cold expanse. Our rocky terrains lay dazed from the repetitive dance of our orbitals-- I lay dazed from dancing around you.

Vertigo isn't the word for this either.

This is whirlwind of emotion, confusion, misunderstanding...

I hear the sweet sound of gravity fading. I don't think I'll be swing dancing in that red dress anytime soon. But I will never forget listening to this music with you.

My dearest Mercury, this orbit has been mesmerizing. Thank you for making me feel revolutionary.
