Moonlit Escape

Within the moon’s caring light

And as the stars begin to gather

Opening up the sky

Making my mind join them in bliss

Flying in never-ending skies, I’m free

Letting my minds ideas take shape before me

And sending me to a world of endless fantasies

And even if the blackness starts to grow

Drowning my mind’s light and sinking my dreams

But as the darkness consumes me, I’ll fly

Waiting for the moon to shine and save me

My escape, my eden

Like a drop in the ocean, a star in the night sky

A sudden chance, and my haven is freed from terror

And my moonlit escape is mine once again

Free to fly, free to create

With the stars to watch over me

And their light to guide me
