The Moon's Orchestra

At night

I never imagined

I would wake to hear\

The music of the dawn

With the moon as the conductor

The players take to the symphony

With the wind strumming the ground

The grasses and trees whisper a soft lullaby

With the crickets harmonizing their tune

The beat of the soft pitter-patter of the rain

And the leading sound of the howling wolf

All together perfectly tuned

To send me to sleep

With dreams of peace

And thoughts of wonder

Of what other songs

The moon has conducted

For the world to sing

As the night begins
