More than Knowledge
Out of everything I own,
One object has the most value,
It's infinate wealth can be loaned,
And its priceless treasures will astound you.
Normally gathering dust in everyone's home,
It has never seen for life than in my own.
An encyclopedia is the object of which I speak,
And though seen as outdated and inconvienient,
Its knowledge and abilities are truly unique.
A is for Aeronautics:
True skill is required to fold a page,
Into a plane that weighlessly glides from English 101's cage.
Out the door, and down the hall,
Into the sky, beyond all walls.
F is for Fish:
Once the filet is fried,
The encyclopedia's pages can be used as the perfect wrap,
"Pass the vinager" I cried,
The fish and chips are gone in a snap.
S is for Sport:
Challenge accepted, I tear out a page,
Crumple it up and now I'm fully engaged,
Make a basket, goal, or home run,
The simplest moments can be formed into fun.
W is for Wilderness Survival
Out in the wild, no shelter in sight,
All I really need is some warmth and some light.
Good thing I brought my trusty book,
Tear, spark, flames, now I know where to look.
So now you see the value of old ways,
You can read online all day about success and stife,
But only an encyclopedia stays,
as the number one thing I need in life.
