More Than Love
It’s not just morning breath kisses,
hand holding or laughter.
Not simply butterflies in the stomach,
or going weak in the knees.
It’s so much more than that.
It’s driving for hours to see each other,
even if it’s only for one day.
It’s sweat-stained T-shirts
and late-night ice cream.
It’s arguing about everything,
but comprising in the end.
It’s knowing we can’t have children,
yet staying together for other dreams.
It’s trust and loyalty
Honesty and happiness
In every little thing we say and do.
It can be flowers and chocolates,
or fancy dinner dates.
Or it can be something beyond all that,
something against all expectations
that is completely beautiful.
