More to Me
From pigtails to messy buns;
From astronauts to marketing, my story.
Sometimes we are the lucky ones;
Growing up to take all the glory.
I had dreams bigger than the universe at ten.
And now I can only name three.
How silly my dreams were back then;
But now I achieve them only for me.
This story, my story about my glow up,
Had to happen very quick.
By sixteen I was already a grown-up.
A variety of jobs I had to pick.
And now I sit and write this poem,
Going to college to better myself
And once I get in, I will show them,
Anything can happen with courage for oneself.
Marketing what I’m here for; what I want to do in life.
There is more to me, more than just a housewife.
