More Than Poetry

Poetry, is more than just putting your feelings and emotions on a piece of paper. Poetry is a way of tapping into that part of the heart and brain that isn't used on a daily basis. Poetry is going below the surface of your imagination. Poetry is a way to scream without ever opening your mouth, a way to see without ever opening your eyes, a way to fly without wings, and a way to feel without ever moving your body to touch. Poetry is something that even the deaf can hear. Poetry is what gives someone without a heart the capability to love. Poetry is what gives color to this black and white world. This is what poetry means to me.
