More than a shrink

To help those in need

Is the best job indeed

Perhaps not in need of food or house

But in need of advice on dealing with a spouse

Internal, external, each conflict needs to be addressed

Whether dealing with a death or picking a wedding dress

Come, sit on my couch, in the room where the walls don't talk

Nor can they see, for there is only me, if you like we can take a walk

My ears are open, just for you, my attention undivided

Whether stressing, smiling, sobbing a river, or simply being undecided

I'm here to help, and I ensure, my intentions are all pure

For I truly care, my goal is to see you smile. Of that, you can be sure

Talk, talk, as long as you like, the topic is up to you

Tell me about your day, about your childhood, you can even tell me about your lost shoe

Helping you is imperative to me, it isn't just my job

I'll have personality, unlike those lifeless shrinks, who stare blankly as you sob

I can relate, give my advice, an opinion if you please

Whether your delima is having "the talk" or picking out a new cheese

I'll be a warm face to which you can consult, I'm not in this for the pay

To have made at least one person smile, well i call that a good day
