More Than Three Simple Words

When I met you, you were different

When I met you, you let me plan the date

When I met you, you were polite

When I met you, you showed interest in all that I do

When I met you, you laughed with me, not at me

When our relationship got serious, I felt comfortable

When we started dating, you respected my wishes

When we started dating, you wanted me to finish my homework and go to sleep

When we started dating, you asked to meet my parents

When we started dating, you wanted the best for me

When you said you loved me, I knew you meant it

Because, you listen to my thoughts and opinions

Because, you respect my values

Because, you want to share your life with me

Because, you trust me unconditionally

Because, you care about my success and support me in all my endeavors

For all these things, I truly mean it when I say those three simple words, I love you.
