More Than Words

‘Because I love you’ are easy words to say

They are easy to mutter

They are easy to shout

They are easy to repeat, to slander, to mistreat

They are easy to be tainted upon the tongues of manipulators.

And they are so easily believed in.

Those four words

Those simple four words

Ironically take much more than words to prove

After all what is a thesis without its facts?

‘Because I love you’ is a vow

It’s a commitment

It’s an oath

It’s a sworn pact for most

Making sacrifices for each other

Looking past the flaws of each other

Staying with each other through the thick and thin.

‘Because I love you’ are words

But they are words that go beyond words to prove

They cannot convey the true emotions of people

After all words can be used as lies
