That Morning

I hold the broken pieces of my heart

Every daughter needs her father

Life decided otherwise

I can't stop but think its a dream

Envy builds within me

Looking back at that morning

I remember him laying breathless

Even time can't heal me now

Letting go is my only choice

I guess life thought I was strong

Enough to withsand its punch

Now I leave the past behind me

Cherishing my fathers memory
