That morning
Sunlight poured through the window
My face pressed against a rumpled pillow
"Wake up" a voice hissed
And grabbing my wrist
Tugged me out of bed that morning
"What is it" I exclaimed
"It's time" he proclaimed
My mother stood there
And watching her stand in the kitchen, I felt a chill in the air
Something monumental was about to occur that morning
She let out a sound of disdain
And a nearly fell over with pain
Her husband left my side
"We have to hurry" she said with a sigh
Few words were exchanged that morning
The streets were nealry empty
Even though my thoughts were plenty
As the car raced down the road
Until suddenly it began to slow
They took me to my grandfather's house that morning
I got out of the car
But I didn't get far
Before my mother called out for me
And placed made me place a hand on her huge tummy
I was going to have a new sister that morning
She stared deep into my eyes
And without a waving goodbye
She mouthed "I love you"
Only leaving a kiss which she blew
I said farewell to my mother that morning
I understood now
My whole life was about to be changed somehow
For I was no longer a child in need of immediate attention
And for this there was not method of prevention
I was not a kid anymore
