A Morning of Hishchool

I am from ya levantate mija ya es tarde

From the getting the 70 pound blanket off

To stepping into the icy cold wooden floor in the morning

Dragging my feet as I approach what I call my Narnia wardrobe

Putting on my outfit

matching my clothes

Half yawning as I tie my shoes not once

...but twice

I check my phone and reply to those sweet heart warming “good morning” messages

To “ ma ya me voy”

Then with the ok mija

As I pet my dogs before leaving

As I walk past the street waiting for the green

Walking and walking as I finally get there

“The old one” the comfortable yet so crowded with many people

With office people in suits to me in a tee and jeans

Riding the rectangular object as It reaches 25 & Commercial

12 & and Imperial

As I murmur the voice over in the “transfer here to get the green line and the Blue Line towards the Convention Center”

Reaching Civic Center

I made it

Down I go as I walk through to get to school

Open the door “Good Morning”

Walk up the stairs and get ready to start class

Metal and metal as it clashes against each other, the bell ring ring

As the clock strikes 8:00am

Class has begun
