MORNING QUESTION

Did you like her in the morning light, when everything felt soft and right? Did you hold her close and call her dear, while I was wishing you were here? Did her smile make your heart feel new, the way mine always did for you? Did you forget the love we knew, when every morning started with her, too? Maybe she was your morning sun, the one you chose when I was done. But if you ever miss the days we had, remember-- I loved you, even when it hurt so bad.
