Morning Walk

The sunrays penetrate the early morn.

Clammy, cold climate hits as I rise.

Each misty breath tumbles before my eyes.

Rose cheeks beam happily like a new born.

Tender paws patter during the new dawn.

Piercing eyes looking towards the skies.

Seemingly he’s looking through his snake eyes.

Smiling blissfully without any scorn.

The clinking of metal chain links resound;

Then filling the air: delighted we are.

With exhilaration we both rebound.

Doors open, tender feet clomp, how bizarre.

We enter the labyrinth; a gentle sound.

He’s as elegant as a jaguar.
