The Mortal Plight
The Mortal Plight
I cry for us
When my breath becomes stripped
By the wind of the world
I cry as an act of desperation
When there’s nothing left to serve
I run to the mercy seat
I cry for redemption
the burden my heart caries
Pulls us
begging her to turn and face what we’ve built
I cry for whom I am a part
For the chance tears can heal
Wiping away the plague of our Mortal Plight
Rewriting our narrative is our only escape
It revives my lost soul
voicing the erased
When all is helpless
I cry for you
Part of our whole
Will you cry for me too?
