Mortality

Life
A corset
Suffocating
But holding
It all
In place
Shaping a
Person
Forming the
Curves
And angles

A reminder
An excuse
To travel
To dream
To skydive
To scuba dive
To dive
into love

A whisper
That says
Keep your
Loved ones
Close
Creeping
Lurking
Always there

A presence
Silent
As a
Soothing breeze
But deafening
As a
Screaming train
Charging angrily
Toward its
Destination

A seat belt
Restricting
Choking
But safe
One click
And freedom
