The Most Beautiful

There is a difference We like to say we are all the same We are not But is that not Beautiful? I have brown fingers and rough toes You have freckled arms and a freckled pink nose But I have arms and you have toes And you have fingers but I have this nose There is no difference I have a mind and it helps me create The words on the page You have a mind and it helps you create The faces you show on stage There is no difference But is that not Beautiful? My mother who scolds me for spilling our milk She is all and always Beautiful My brother who clings close to me Is a soul of Beauty You, who look down on my face I find Beauty even in your loss of grace The looks. The eyes. The hearts of us all. There is no difference. The thoughts. The laughter. The courage. The freedom. We like to say that we are all the same We are not. But is that not Beautiful? That I feel love is hard to find And that makes it more precious That you feel justice is scarce And that make it more true But freedom will never lose righteousness The Most Beautiful Of All Is that we are all different My arms Your toes My fingers Your nose But is that not Beautiful The Most Beautiful Of All
