Most of my Head is Here
This one day in 8th grade
I read this poem, silently,
couldn't remember what it said but
It was something that made me go, "Whoa! I like this!"
I went to Target and bought two notebooks
One baby blue and one black
and covered each one in stickers and odd things of me
So when you touch it, you know its mine
And if you opened the pages, the words were mine
Written in two notebooks, feeling divine, because
they were my words, in my two notebooks
And when I wrote, I wrote and wrote,
until my mother comes in and says, "Why do you write so much?"
You write to learn how your mind thinks, you write to read your mind.
You write to express what you think, and how to read between the lines
You write to tell, and say, and explore what you cannot see
You write a lot to read some more, and learn how to understand me
I write as a hobby, it puts my mind at ease
I write because physically, my fingers have been set free
Not writing about historical things of mutually equal importance
Instead writing about, what make me, me.
