mosters in the mind

Sometimes i want to say what is on my mind

But they don't quite fit into what i say

I feel bad for what i say

As in: Im OKAY

But sometimes i feel like crying

The things i respond only in my mind

Monsters eating me inside

Send me away

No one cares

No one listens

Im not wanted

Im not loved

Sometimes people say mean things to me

Or maybe what I imagine they say

Your worthless

Do you have  friends?

Youre ugly

Sometimes i hear nice things

Words to lift you up higher

I love you

Youre my best friend

You are beautiful

My monsters stop chewing my heart

They take it to mind

As if they care

I feel Really OKAY

So soon they are back at it

Covering my contrasting colors

With a dull grey

Darkening my feelings

Without one color

My mind goes negative

Im OKAY

But im not

Fake it ‘til you make it

I pull up a kind exterior

While my interior is

T
O

R

N

Apart

These are my demons

I hold on to the pieces falling onto the floor

It feels like im waiting for the moon

I wait all day

Forget the night

Though i can't see the moon

Through all the feeling in my tears

I hold in my feelings for a while

Spilling them when i feel threatened

I may be ugly

But only when i cry

I am BEAUTIFUL

I thank the world

For one more day

I smile

‘Cause the moon smiles back
