Mother #1

Mother,

They’ve broke me

I’ve finally caved

I’m going mad

I’m drowning

Where nobody can hear me

It makes me sick to be here

But seeing everywhere else

Makes me sick to depart

I feel unwelcome

In a place where I just want acceptance and peace.

This awful feeling in my stomach

And awful words in my head

I’m delirious

All of this; it hurts me more because i know it

I still have feelings for a boy who hates me

I asked a boy to homecoming and got publicly embarrassed

I’ve spoken my mind and they want me to cover it

I may as well cover my eyes and ears too

But nothing is okay in my life, in this world

And I can no longer stand by and pretend

Pretend I don’t have

A voice,

A brain,

A heart.

They’ve knocked me down

But I mend my own wounds

And I am once again standing

Let lord have mercy for those who stand in my way,

I will not.
