Mother

Mountains heal our depression Countless tears equal the countless pills Music notes melt Cords fade Stack of books in your philosophical brain Minds are our distractions Cold fire is our reflection I love you when you hate me I hate you when you love me. Though we continue to sing Walking through the empty streets Looking for a place to stay And wonder how we end up this way Seems like it was yesterday When you had told me about the apple on the lemon tree And how the little bird was set free Then you smiled That beautiful smiled that only lasted for a while.
