A Mother

A mother understands

The things you say and do.

She overlooks your faults

And sees the best in you.

A mother can make you smile

No matter how you feel,

She always has the words

To help you grow and to heal.

A mother loves

With all her heart and soul

She’d do anything for you,

Help you reach any goal.

A mother is all of this- and more.

The greatest treasure known.

And the dearest mother in the world,

Is the one I call my own.

We still visit each other,

When I close my eyes at night.

I tell her how her love for me

Has made my life so bright.
